Daredevil: Born Again will come to an end with its third season, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. While fans might be sad to see the critically acclaimed show go, Marvel is also developing a spy thriller series, which has already drawn comparisons to Lanterns.
Online speculation has taken a new turn after scooper Borys Kit claimed that the spy thriller show Marvel is developing is called Zodiac. There are a large number of characters that have used the Zodiac title, usually to run some globe-spanning criminal enterprise. Interestingly, many such characters have usually crossed paths with the Avengers in one way or another.
But when one show ends, another one begins: Marvel greenlight spy thriller show referred to as ZODIAC. https://t.co/HWgW1SlGQF— Borys Kit (@Borys_Kit) September 21, 2026
What Marvel’s Zodiac could mean for the MCU’s next spy thriller
It remains unclear when Zodiac will be released. Many fans predict that Secret Wars will be ‘resetting’ the Marvel universe, discarding what has been criticized and keeping what the majority of the fanbase have enjoyed. The New Avengers fall in the latter category, and Zodiac fits the role of the team pretty well.
Although nothing has been confirmed at this point, Zodiac could also be tied to the Heroes for Hire project. It is supposedly in the works at Marvel Studios, starring Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Such a connection could position the series within Marvel’s street-level corner, filling the vacuum left by Daredevil.
It could just be that Zodiac is an internal production name rather than a hint at what the show will be about, as is often the case with productions that want to keep things under wraps. Given the timeline of its development and release, it is very likely that the show is being developed keeping a post-Secret Wars continuity in mind. Its eventual place in the Marvel timeline is not yet clear.
It remains to be seen whether the show is about a street-level vigilante or a fan-favorite character fans have been waiting to see join the MCU.
