Getting a Gold Bottle Cap in Pokémon Go isn’t as easy as you might expect. This item is an exclusive reward that’s only available through the Deluxe version of Go Pass during select events. To earn it, you’ll need to complete a series of tasks and make your way through the pass. At the moment, the Gold Bottle Cap is available as a Rank 100 Reward in the Deluxe Go Pass: Road of Legends, which coincides with the upcoming Go Fest 2026. This version of the pass costs $20.
Once you’ve obtained a Gold Bottle Cap, here’s how you can use it:
Open your Item Bag and select Gold Bottle Cap.
Choose the Pokémon whose IVs you want to improve.
Tap Next, select Training, and confirm your choice.
Once that’s done, your team’s leader will appear and let you know that Hyper Training has begun for your selected Pokemon. From there, you’ll receive a set of Hyper Training tasks tied to the Pokemon’s Attack, Defense, and HP stats. Complete these tasks, and you will be able to gradually raise those IVs until they reach 15/15/15.
However, there are a few things to keep in mind before using your Gold Bottle Cap. This item has an expiration date, which you can keep a check on from your Item Bag, so don’t let it sit unused for too long. The Pokemon you choose must also have reached at least Good Buddy status before Hyper Training can begin. Once you have activated it, you’ll have 365 days to complete all of the required training tasks. Also, Shadow Pokemon can’t be Hyper Trained, as you can’t use a Gold Bottle Cap on them.
