There will be plenty of Hollywood presence at the 79th Tony Awards. Besides the stars lining up for performances and as presenters during the function, there are a few stars who have received Tony nominations for their theatre work. The likes of John Lithgow, Rose Byrne, and June Squibb are some of the favorites to win acting awards this year. The function will kick off at 8:00 P.M. ET on June 7, 2026, at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
Three-time Grammy winner P!NK is hosting the main ceremony. Hollywood actors like Rachel Zegler, Leslie Odom Jr., Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Queen Latifah are putting on a performance. Meanwhile, stars like Adrien Brody, Annette Bening, Ariana DeBose, Ben Platt, Billy Crystal, John Leguizamo, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Maya Rudolph, Neil Patrick Harris, and Paul Rudd are presenting awards this year.
1. John Lithgow as Roald Dahl in Giant

John Lithgow won his first Tony Award for his Broadway debut in 1972’s The Changing Room. He received another Tony for the musical, Sweet Smell of Success. He was also nominated for a Tony three other times, not including his current nomination. In screen acting, he won six Emmys for roles including the Trinity Killer in Dexter, and was nominated for two Oscars for The World According to Garp and Terms of Endearment.
He has also won a Laurence Olivier Award for his current Tony-nominated role in Giant, when played on the West End. In the show, he appeared as a fictionalized version of the British author as he dealt with the backlash against his literary review of God Cried in 1983.
2. Daniel Radcliffe as Performer in Every Brilliant Thing

The star, Daniel Radcliffe, who made a name for himself starring in the Wizarding World movies, branched out to stage acting when he was still playing Harry Potter. He expanded his theater work so much in the years since, earning two Grammy nominations and winning a Tony for Best Featured Actor in the musical, Merrily We Roll Along. He is up for his second Tony, this time as a leading actor, in the play Every Brilliant Thing. The play features only a single actor and moves forward through audience engagement.
3. Rose Byrne as Jane Banbury in Fallen Angels

Rose Byrne is getting her deserved recognition this year, both in Hollywood and in the theatre. She appeared in many comedy and horror movies of the 2010s, becoming a familiar face to the audience. Her role as a troubled mother in the 2025 movie, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, earned her an Oscar nomination this year. Her first Tony nomination also came in the same year for her role as Jane Banbury in Noël Coward’s comedy play, Fallen Angels.
4. Carrie Coon as Agnes White in Bug

Carrie Coon is a constant presence in prestige television shows like The Leftovers, Fargo, The Gilded Age, and The White Lotus. Over the years, she has earned three Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe nod for her TV work. She made her Broadway debut with her Tony-nominated role in the 2012 revival of Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. She has grabbed another Tony nomination with her return to Broadway in 2026 in the revival of Bug.
5. Luke Evans as Frank-N-Furter in Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show

Luke Evans began his career on the stage before his star-making role in Clash of the Titans in 2010. He appeared in several movies, including Immortals, The Raven, Fast & Furious 6, The Hobbit, and Dracula Untold. He recently starred in the Hulu series Nine Perfect Strangers. He returned to the stage for the Broadway production of The Rocky Horror Show, for which he has received his current Tony nod. He is playing the central character of Frank-N-Furter in this revival.
6. Stephanie Hsu as Janet Weiss in Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show

Everything Everywhere All at Once fame Stephanie Hsu is playing the female lead alongside Luke Evans in The Rocky Horror Show. The 2022 movie earned her an Academy nod for Best Supporting Actress. She is a trained actor from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, who began her acting career in experimental theatre. Previously, she appeared in shows like Be More Chill and SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical.
7. Alden Ehrenreich as Max in Becky Shaw

Alden Ehrenreich‘s Hollywood entry was marked by the Francis Ford Coppola movies, Tetro and Twixt. He landed the lead role in the Coen brothers movie, Hail, Caesar!, and he followed it up with the dream role of a young Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story. He appeared in significant roles in Cocaine Bear, Oppenheimer, and Weapons. He made his Broadway debut in Becky Shaw, which earned him a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play.
8. Aya Cash as Jessie Stone in Giant

Aya Cash first gained prominence after her starring role in the dark comedy, You’re the Worst. She then landed the role of the villain, Clara Vought/Stormfront, in the second season of The Boys. She is about to star in the spinoff show, Vought Rising. Cash has received a Tony nomination for her role as Jessie in the Mark Rosenblatt play, Giant.
9. Laurie Metcalf as Linda Loman in Death of a Salesman

Remember Sheldon’s mom from The Big Bang Theory? She has also appeared as Jackie Harris in Roseanne and its spinoff, The Conners. Metcalf made her Broadway debut in 1995 and has earned seven Tony nominations in total, including the one for her role in Death of a Salesman. She won two times: first, Best Actress in a Play for A Doll’s House, Part 2, and second, Best Featured Actress in a Play for the 2018 revival of Three Tall Women.
10. June Squibb as Marjorie in Marjorie Prime

The lovely June Squibb made her acting debut on Broadway in 1959, but has had many amazing roles in Hollywood. For Alexander Payne’s 2013 road movie Nebraska, she earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She is currently nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role in Marjorie Prime.
11. Rachel Dratch as The Narrator in Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show

Besides Luke Evans and Stephanie Hsu, actress Rachel Dratch is also nominated for a Tony for the musical revival of The Rocky Horror Show. Dratch is trained in improv theatre and showed off her skills as a regular cast member of Saturday Night Live from 1999 to 2006. Her popular SNL roles landed her TV roles in Frasier and 30 Rock. She made her Broadway debut in 2022, earning a Tony nomination for POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive.
