Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s iconic DC character Mr. Freeze has gotten an unexpected revival recently. The development is part of Hot Toys’ latest launch of their DC Collectibles.
DC fans can get the exclusive first look at Mr. Freeze in an unboxing video by Sideshow. According to updates provided by Sideshow, the ⅙ scale collectible figure is inspired by Schwarzenegger’s look in the 1997 film Batman & Robin.
As the video rolls on, the box can be spotted sporting a frosty look. Mr. Freeze’s face artwork takes up most of the front space, while a silver-colored logo of Batman & Robin can be seen in the top right corner.
Mr. Freeze was originally a scientist named Dr. Victor Fries. Trying to find a cure for his wife’s ailment, he accidentally messed up one of his experiments that caused rapid changes to his body. Realizing that he could only survive in freezing temperatures, Dr. Fries devised a suit that regulated his body temperature. Mr. Freeze also created a powerful machine named the ‘freezing engine,’ which had the potential to freeze the whole of Gotham.

Hot Toys’ new collectible figure is based on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s appearance as Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin (1997). Hot Toys’ Mr. Freeze has been hand-painted to resemble the makeup Schwarzenegger wore in the film.
The toy also comes with a newly designed head sculpt. Adding to that, the figure has ice-blue skin and realistic textures and details like adjustable rolling eyeballs. The suit has been designed to closely resemble the one in Batman & Robin. Metallic paints have been used to detail the suit and armor.
Mr. Freeze’s armor, helmet, and Freeze Gun have LED lights, which means they can light up just like they do in the movie. Furthermore, Hot Toys has added different interchangeable hands to allow for dynamic posing.
The Deluxe version comes with some added accessories like metallic glider wings and a frozen environment-themed diorama figure base.
The action figure is currently on the waitlist on Sideshow.com.
