There’s a brand new update for Cillian Murphy’s Peaky Blinders film, and that is that Barry Keoghan (from Saltburn, The Batman fame) will be joining the much-awaited film.
Keoghan will star as the leader of a new generation of flatcaps in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, which is scheduled for release in select theaters globally on March 6, 2026, and will be coming to Netflix shortly after on March 20, 2026, for everyone to enjoy.
Keoghan revealed to Empire Online that he probably shouldn’t say the iconic Peaky Blinders line “By order of the Peaky Blinders” because it is simply… so iconic.
I feel like I shouldn’t be allowed to say it. It’s such an iconic line. I’d always wanted to be part of it. But the schedules never worked, or I didn’t fit the description of what they were looking for.
Well, with Barry Keoghan leading the charge with Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, the only question that remains is whether the actor will be able to pull through the role or not.
Can Barry Keoghan Carry the Peaky Blinders Franchise

Although Cillian Murphy’s Tommy Shelby will still be the lead of the upcoming movie, the news feels like a passing-the-baton kind of move to Barry Keoghan.
Keoghan’s filmography, which includes some iconic roles in projects like Saltburn, The Banshees of Inisherin, and The Killing of the Sacred Deer, is more than enough to validate his role as a part of the Peaky Blinders franchise.
Not to mention the fact that Keoghan was in talks to join the series often, it seems that creator Steven Knight saw something great in him. However, the main point could be a simple comparison to the character of Michael Gray (played by Finn Cole).
Keoghan’s role could be similar to Finn Cole’s portrayal of Michael Gray, who was the newest member of the Peaky Blinders (until season six), but Barry Keoghan could end up being inspired by Tommy Shelby rather than betraying him.
