Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s star Tom Holland and director Destin Daniel Cretton will be part of a major Marvel Comics milestone. The two recently worked on one of the most successful movies in the Spider-Man franchise, which has surpassed box office expectations.
In an exclusive report by Marvel, Holland and Cretton will contribute to Amazing Spider-Man #1000 through an exclusive interview. This issue will be on sale from September 30, 2026. The upcoming comic will also feature an incredible lineup of anniversary stories from acclaimed Spider-verse creators across the globe.
The interview with Holland and Cretton will connect the landmark comic issue with the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe. The interview celebrates both the milestone issue and the cinematic success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The film is still playing in theaters and has earned a worldwide gross of $2.41 billion.

What else is included in Amazing Spider-Man #1000?
Much like the turning point for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in Brand New Day, the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man #1000 issue will throw Peter Parker into new turmoil. It will pick up the story from the previous issue, where Aunt May was rushed to the hospital after suffering a stroke. Moreover, it will set the stage for a revelatory showdown with the all-new super-villain Ravage.
The anniversary comic also features stories from acclaimed writers. The first feature is called I Can Never Rest by Dan Slott and Marcos Martin, which takes Peter Parker back to the heartbreaking night when he lost Uncle Ben. The second feature, The Gesture, by Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen, will focus on the web-slinger and the Avengers who team up to fight against Spidey’s foes.
Moreover, Tears of the Spider-Queen’ by Frank Miller and Peach Momoko will pit Spider-Man against the deadly ninjas of the Hand. Still Standing by Noah Hawley and Patrick Gleason will introduce an older Peter Parker who suits up for one final adventure.
It will also feature the stories Requiem for a Goblin by J.M. DeMatteis and Humberto Ramos and Of Webs and Six-Guns” by Larry Lieber and Giuseppe Camuncoli. The former story will have the web-slinger revisiting the death of Harry Osborn while the latter will introduce the web-slinger in a Western-style adventure.
Lastly, the Amazing Spider-Man #1000 issue will also include a story by the former professional wrestler Triple H and Ed McGuinness called The Big Night. This story spins an original Spider-Man tale written by the former wrestler.
