The Warner Bros. auction is simply getting heated up day by day. While news previously erupted that Netflix would buy the production house, with Paramount Skydance Corp. also eyeing the same, new updates point out serious issues.
As per a latest report by CNN Business, Warner Bros. Discovery is all set to reject Paramount’s offer. The studio has called Paramount’s buyout offer “illusory,” also stating that selling its stakes to Netflix seems a better plan.
For those unversed, the offer from Paramount mostly comes from investors from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi. This is where the WBD has raised its doubts, depicting their fear as a fundamental concern.
In return, Paramount has stated that it has“air tight financing” and other claims are simply “absurd.”
Meanwhile, the Warner Bros. Discovery board has stated to its shareholders that the Paramount deal “provides inadequate value and imposes numerous, significant risks and costs on WBD.” Now, the ultimate decision lies in the hands of shareholders.
It was back in October 2025 that Warner Bros. put itself up for sale. This was following several offers to buy the company or parts of it. Besides Netflix and Paramount Skydance Corp., it is Comcast Corp. as well that has come forward to buy the studio.
Netflix and Zack Snyder Could Bring Back Better Days
The core audience of Netflix already knows what a tight bond the streamer and Zack Snyder share. The two have already come forth with several outings, including the Rebel Moon movies as well as the Army of the Dead franchise, which also led to a 2021 Army of Thieves outing.
Meanwhile, if cards are on the table, Netflix, which is one of the biggest streamers around the world, would not hesitate at all to bring back the Snyderverse. For those unversed, Snyderverse was the foundation of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), the same franchise that starred Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck‘s Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and other widely acclaimed actors in prominent roles.
As per Collider, Zack Snyder fans have been wishing for Warner Bros. Discovery to sell its segment of DC superheroes to Netflix for many years. This was with a simple hope of reviving the Snyderverse.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that Netflix is actually interested in buying Warner Bros. film and TV studios, the HBO and HBO Max streaming businesses. Meaning, the streamer would surely bring big changes to the superhero segment of WBD.

It should be noted that at this point, some shareholders of Warner Bros. Discovery are still aiming to go with the offer from Paramount Skydance Corp. The report by CNN suggests that some shareholders will reject the company’s advice and sell their shares to Paramount for $30 a share.
In case this deal comes to fruition, the continuation of James Gunn and Peter Safran led DC Universe–the current superhero franchise– will only bloom even further.
This is possible because while offering his deal, the CEO of Paramount Skydance Corp., David Ellison, had maintained that he would keep the creative teams intact, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
