Sebastian Stan is reportedly not playing Harvey Dent/Two-Face in The Batman Part 2 after all. Instead, he may be cast as Victor Zsasz, a brutal DC serial killer, according to an unconfirmed new report from industry insider Jeff Sneider (The InSneider). This shocking twist contradicts months of earlier rumors that the Thunderbolts star was set to become Gotham’s district attorney who flips between good and evil.
According to Sneider’s latest newsletter, Brian Tyree Henry is actually the actor playing Harvey Dent in Matt Reeves’ sequel, while Stan takes on the role of Zsasz, one of Batman’s most psychologically disturbed and violent enemies. While Zsasz has had brief live-action appearances before, played by Tim Booth in Batman Begins and Chris Messina in Birds of Prey, neither version depicted him as the comics’ tally-mark-carving serial killer. If this report is accurate, it would mark the character’s first true big-screen portrayal as Batman’s iconic killer.

Victor Zsasz is a knife-wielding serial killer who stalks Gotham City with no costume, no henchmen, and no desire for money or fame, with the only goal being to kill. Created by writers Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle, he first appeared in Batman: Shadow of the Bat #1 in 1992.
Zsasz’s most defining trait is his obsession with carving a fresh tally mark into his own skin for every life he claims. Often depicted as completely hairless, he’s recognizable by the dizzying number of scars covering every inch of his body. He believes life is meaningless and that by killing his victims, he’s “saving” them from their pointless existence.
Neither Matt Reeves nor Warner Bros. has officially confirmed which character Stan will play, and the studio is expected to keep major casting details under wraps until closer to the film’s release. The Batman Part 2 is currently filming in London and is expected to hit theaters in October 2027.
