Adam Driver, the acclaimed lead from the 95%-rated Netflix hit Marriage Story, will star in Netflix’s new drama series Rabbit Rabbit. The series is a high-stakes hostage thriller that features a psychological showdown with a veteran FBI crisis negotiator (via Deadline).
The story follows an escaped convict who is cornered by law enforcement at a remote truck stop in southern Illinois. In a desperate bid for freedom, he takes hostages. But the situation quickly spirals into a tense social experiment with his captives as well as an emotional poker match with a veteran FBI negotiator, who uses “tactical empathy” to de-escalate the crisis.
Rabbit, Rabbit marks Driver’s another collaborating with Netflix following 2019’s Marriage Story. Starring Driver and Scarlett Johansson, it follows a couple going through bi-coastal divorce, complicated by their son’s custody. The movie earned Driver and Johansson Academy Award nominations as well as the Best Pictures Nomination.

Driver will also serve as an executive producer for the new project. Filming could start as early as 2026, though no release date has been announced.
Adolescence Director Philip Barantini Is Set to Direct Rabbit, Rabbit
Philip Barantini, the Emmy-nominated director behind Netflix’s British hit Adolescence, is set to helm the series. Barantini is known for high-intensity, one-shot storytelling, as seen in Boiling Point and Adolescence.
Netflix won a competitive bidding war for the series and has given it a straight-to-series order, bypassing the usual pilot process.
Peter Craig, who co-wrote Top Gun: Maverick and The Batman, created the series and will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Craig has previously worked on Apple TV’s Dope Thief.
The series is produced by MRC TV in partnership with Peter Craig’s Night Owl company and Philip Barantini’s It’s All Made Up Productions. Other executive producers include Samantha Beddoe of It’s All Made Up Productions, Bryan Unkeless of Night Owl, and Adam Driver.

Aside from Rabbit, Rabbit, he stars in Apple TV’s art-world drama The Dealer alongside Jessica Chastain. Last year, he led Francis Ford Coppola’s sci-fi epic Megalopolis and appeared in Jim Jarmusch’s anthology film Father Mother Sister Brother, set to release on Christmas Day.
Upcoming movies include James Gray’s crime drama Paper Tiger with Scarlett Johansson and Miles Teller, and Chris Rock’s Misty Green. Driver has also been linked to Michael Mann’s rumored crime project Heat 2.
