Masters of the Universe Post Credits Scene Explained: Who Is She Ra and Will There Be a Sequel?
Spread the love

Spoiler Alert !!!Major spoilers ahead for Masters of the Universe (2026)

Masters of the Universe arrived in theaters with a positive response from critics and audiences. The movie pits Nicholas Galitzine‘s He-Man against Jared Leto’s villain, Skeletor. Fans loved many elements of the movie, including how it sticks with the nostalgic He-Man lore. The other standout elements of the movie included Leto’s incredible performance, Galitzine’s appeal, and the neatly choreographed fight sequences.

The movie ends with He-Man defeating Skeletor and becoming the protector of Eternia. Masters of the Universe features multiple credit scenes, so you will want to stay in your seat until the very end. There are three scenes, with the first appearing almost immediately after the film ends, just as the director’s name appears in the credits.

This scene marks the live-action debut of fan-favorite character, Orko, who narrates He-Man’s victory over Skeletor. The second is a mid-credits scene that arrives shortly afterward. This second scene is certainly a franchise-defining tease. During Queen Marlena’s conversation with Man-at-Arms, she mentions that since they found Adam, they might still have a chance to find “her”.

It then cuts to a glimpse of the iconic character, She-Ra. We don’t see her face, so the franchise may be looking for an actress to take on the role. It is worth sticking around until the credits finish rolling, as the film also includes a post-credits scene.

The movie also stars Camila Mendes as Teela, Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms, Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, and Kristen Wiig as the voice of Roboto. Some criticism was directed at the movie’s tone, overpowering humor in places, and some franchise-building elements. In our review of Masters of the Universe, M.N. Miller praised Galitzine’s “charm, humor, and genuine star potential” but added that the movie was “a missed opportunity.”

Masters of the Universe Post-Credits Scenes Set Up a She-Ra Sequel

With the glimpse of She-Ra in the mid-credits scene, Masters of the Universe reveals its plans for a sequel with the Princess of Power in the central role. The 1985 spinoff of the original series, She-Ra: Princess of Power, was an instant hit among fans, as it created a perfect tale around Adam’s twin sister, Princess Adora.

When she was an infant, Adora was kidnapped by Hordak and his Horde and brought to Etheria. She becomes a Horde warrior after Hordak brainwashes her. She led the Horde army against Etheria’s Great Rebellion initially. The Sorceress has a vision of Adora and sends Adam on a mission to find her.

Adam finds Adora and breaks her out of Hordak’s control. She wields her Sword of Protection and becomes She-Ra. While she reunites with her parents, she eventually decides to return to Etheria and join the Great Rebellion and fight for the planet’s freedom from Hordak’s evil forces.

The character in the scene donned her signature red cape and golden headpiece. She was called Force Captain Adora, hinting that she is still part of the Evil Horde army. A potential sequel could adapt the events of the theatrical movie, The Secret of the Sword, which featured her character for the first time. It was also a compilation of the first five episodes of the She-Ra show.

The mid-credits scene was surprising for fans, who had little hope of seeing She-Ra in this universe. The media rights for the two characters were split up. Sony Pictures, which previously held the He-Man rights, sold it to Amazon. Meanwhile, the screen rights of She-Ra went to DreamWorks Animation (owned by NBCUniversal) when its original owner, Filmation, dissolved. We have yet to see what kind of deal Amazon struck with DreamWorks for She-Ra.

Will Skeletor Appear in this Sequel?

In the end credits scene of the movie, we see Alison Brie’s Evil-Lyn retrieving Skeletor’s skull from the floor of Castle Grayskull. We hear the villain’s laugh in the scene, indicating that we might see him in the franchise’s future.

While Skeletor may not be the main villain in a She-Ra focused sequel, the movie could still show how Evil-Lyn resurrects the villain in a sub-plot. According to the lore, the potential main villain of the next story, Hordak, is Skeletor’s mentor.

It is possible that by the end of this sequel, Skeletor might come back even more powerful for another battle with He-Man. However, for these movies to come to life, fans hope that Masters of the Universe becomes a major box office success for Amazon.
