The latest Genshin Impact 7.0 Stygian Onslaught cycle brings three new bosses: the new Chimeric Winged Lion, the Veteran Wind Operative, and the returning Knuckle Duckle. Each battlefield has its own ruleset and mechanics, so it won’t just be about your strongest characters.

For example, Stellar reaction teams are the best against the Chimeric Winged Lion, while the Veteran Wind Operative’s Bond of Life mechanic makes certain characters particularly effective. Meanwhile, Knuckle Duckle remains one of the most restrictive bosses because of its powerful ward and summoned Stamping Devices.
Here are five of the best teams to consider for the current Stygian Onslaught rotation in Genshin Impact, especially if you’re doing the higher Fearless and Dire difficulties.
1. Sandrone, Odette, Yae Miko, Qiqi
Best for: Chimeric Winged Lion
Sandrone’s premium team is arguably the strongest option against the Chimeric Winged Lion in this Stygian Onslaught cycle. The boss begins the fight by creating a powerful Electro shield, and Stellar-Conduct reactions are exceptionally effective at tearing through it.
Odette provides the necessary support for the reaction while Yae Miko supplies consistent Electro application. Sandrone can then take advantage of the opening created once the shield disappears.
Breaking the shield is the priority. Once it falls, the Lion becomes temporarily vulnerable and suffers reduced Cryo and Anemo resistance. This gives Sandrone an excellent opportunity to unload her strongest attacks before the boss resumes its mechanics.
Players with C6 Alyosha can also consider replacing Qiqi for additional offensive support.
2. Cryo Traveler, Odette, Yae Miko, Alyosha
Best for: Chimeric Winged Lion
If you want to take advantage of the Lion’s Stellar-Conduct weakness without having Sandrone, a Cryo Traveler team is an excellent alternative. Especially with it’s position in the meta as of Genshin Impact 7.0.
Cryo Traveler works as the primary damage dealer, while Odette and Yae Miko maintain the elemental application needed to repeatedly trigger Stellar-Conduct. Alyosha adds further offensive utility to the lineup.
The key to this team is still the same: concentrate on removing the Electro shield as quickly as possible. Once the boss becomes vulnerable, switch into your normal damage rotation and capitalize on its lowered resistances.
This is also a useful option for players who want to reserve Sandrone for another part of their roster.
3. Arlecchino, Fischl, Chevreuse, Nicole
Best for: Veteran Wind Operative
The Veteran Wind Operative is an unusually good matchup for Arlecchino because of its Bond of Life mechanic. During its shield phase, the boss applies a substantial Bond of Life to the entire party, and Arlecchino can turn that mechanic into an advantage.
An Overload setup with Fischl and Chevreuse gives the team strong off-field damage and consistent reactions, while Nicole provides additional utility.
The Operative’s shield is the main obstacle. Damage dealt while it is active is effectively stored and returned to the boss when the shield breaks, allowing a fast team to produce a huge burst of damage. Be careful of the boss’s special attack, however, as getting hit can allow it to recover HP and inflict a damaging debuff.
4. Arlecchino, Xilonen, Citlali, Bennett
Best for: Veteran Wind Operative
A second Arlecchino team is worth considering if you do not have the characters needed for an Overload composition. This Melt team provides strong buffs and survivability while allowing Arlecchino to remain the team’s primary damage dealer.
Citlali is especially useful because shielding can protect your characters from the Operative’s dangerous attacks. Her abilities are best timed around the shield-breaking phase, allowing Arlecchino to make the most of her damage window afterward.
The Veteran Wind Operative is less restrictive than the other two bosses, so a well-built Arlecchino team should have little trouble clearing it at the appropriate investment level.
5. Flins, Ineffa, Columbina, Sucrose
Best for: Knuckle Duckle
The returning Knuckle Duckle is arguably the most demanding boss of the current Stygian Onslaught cycle. It begins the fight with a powerful ward and summons multiple Stamping Devices that must be dealt with before the boss becomes properly vulnerable.
This is where Flins and Lunar-Charged teams shine. Flins, Ineffa, and Columbina provide an ideal core for quickly eliminating the summoned devices through the reactions they favor.
Once the devices are destroyed, the Knuckle Duckle loses its ward, has its resistances reduced, and becomes vulnerable to your attacks. Sucrose rounds out the team with additional utility and reaction support.
Ineffa is particularly valuable because the boss deals considerable Electro damage, giving her defensive utility alongside the team’s offensive strengths.
Players without Flins can use other Lunar-Charged compositions, but the performance gap can be significant at Fearless and Dire difficulties. Highly invested alternatives such as Nefer, Zibai, Mavuika, or Arlecchino can still work, provided they have enough damage to clear the Stamping Devices and finish the boss within the available windows.
