A fresh wave of Elder Scrolls 6 leaks is making the rounds on the internet, and this time it originates from a thread on 4chan (via Reddit) that has since been picked up and is being talked about. Posted anonymously, the user is claiming to be a freelance developer and outsourcing-studio staff member who has worked on the game, and describes the game as having a Hammerfell setting, along with a major lighting-engine overhaul, and most importantly, a release window as early as late 2027.

Posters in the aforementioned 4chan thread have pointed to Hammerfell as The Elder Scrolls 6′s setting. One of these anonymous posters claims to have worked as a freelance contractor on environment lighting roughly a year and a half ago, and described the region as a Mediterranean-style coastline that shifts into forest to the north and desert to the east. The same poster claims the visuals looked generic but polished, built through a heavy photogrammetry-based pipeline.
Other posts in the thread started described the game going through a major lighting overhaul, with the upcoming title making use of a DDGI-style system instead that would use an irradiance cache and constantly update the ray-traced assets. Furthermore, there were also mentions of an in-engine test rendering a human character in a desert environment, used to demo ray-traced gold reflections.

There are different estimates on when the game actually comes out, but all of them end up landing in a similar range. One poster guessed a launch as soon as next year based on how far along the project looked. Another, describing themselves as a Zenimax freelancer, was more specific, pointing to a possible late 2027 release, reasoning that the game was largely complete, assets-wise, by early 2025 and would roughly need two more years afterward to finish things up.
The most important thing to note is that despite the level of detail and some overlap between posters, none of these claims come from Bethesda or Microsoft, and there’s no way to confirm any of it.
