Something seems amiss at the beginning of Daredevil: Born Again, as the trailers indicate. For whatever reason, Daredevil seems to be out of the vigilante game, in what can only be assumed to be the beginning of the show. There also seems to be some tension between Daredevil and The Punisher.

Wilson Fisk is known to be a pretty manipulative character, with the Kingpin running the underworld of New York without much issue. There is no reason to believe that he might employ some sort of tactic to get the Punisher to fight with Daredevil all over again. It also remains to be seen how much of the Netflix series is actually canon, which means that a reconciliation between Matt and Frank might never even have happened in the manner that it did in the show.

As plot details of the show remain under wraps, it can be speculated that Daredevil: Born Again might see Frank (Jon Bernthal) and Matt butt heads once again, over a misunderstanding if not anything else. There is a possibility that Frank might be mad at Daredevil for a completely different reason, perhaps even for the rumored death of Karen Page.

Wilson Fisk, for whatever reason this fight may be, could take advantage of the issues that have cropped up between The Punisher and Daredevil, opting to keep them engaged with each other while he works from behind the scenes. This could go on to get other heroes involved, with an all-out war breaking out among the street-level vigilantes. This could also call in the cameo that the creators of the show have been teasing all this while.

The time between Daredevil Season 3 and Daredevil: Born Again has seen a lot of characters being introduced into the street-level side of the MCU. While Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand were all present during Netflix’s run of Daredevil, characters like Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and Spider-Man now exist in the MCU in full force, which means that they might cross paths with Matt and Frank after all.

The Kingpin is set to be a major antagonist for a slew of seasons of Daredevil, which means that the character is going to have to cross paths with numerous other heroes in a bid to create some sort of army to fight the menace that is his Wilson Fisk. This could just be a new iteration of the Defenders, or the Midnight Sons, who fans have wanted to see make their MCU debut for a long time.
Daredevil: Born Again will begin streaming on March 4, 2025.
