Robert Pattinson has teased a significant change in The Batman Part II. The actor is returning as Bruce Wayne and Batman for Matt Reeves‘ sequel. He says the upcoming film will take a “real left turn” while retaining the feel of the first film.
In an interview with Collider, Pattinson mentioned that The Batman Part II will feel different compared to the first part. He said, “It’s so ambitious.” Pattinson noted that the first film offered “a different take on a Batman movie,” while the sequel will take a distinct approach. He also said he is excited to see how the project turns out.
While Pattinson did not reveal what the major change will involve, his comments provide a glimpse of Reeves’ approach to the sequel. Plot details remain under wraps, and Warner Bros. and DC have not revealed the full story.
What else do we know about The Batman Part II so far?
Matt Reeves is returning to direct The Batman Part II and is co-writing the screenplay with Mattson Tomlin. Pattinson will reprise his role as Batman, continuing the story of the younger Bruce Wayne introduced in 2022’s The Batman.
The sequel is part of Reeves’ separate Batman universe rather than James Gunn and Peter Safran’s main DC Universe. Gunn’s DCU will eventually introduce its own version of the character in The Brave and the Bold.
The Batman followed Bruce during his second year as Batman as he investigated a series of murders committed by the Riddler. The case exposed corruption throughout Gotham and forced Bruce to reconsider his role as Batman.
The sequel will reportedly explore the aftermath of those events. However, DC has not revealed the full story or confirmed which villains Batman will face next.
For now, the cast of Batman Part II also includes Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Charles Dance, Bryan Tyree Henry, and Sebastian Koch.
