Himawari Uzumaki has quietly become one of the most intriguing characters in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. What once looked like a simple connection to Naruto has turned into something far more extraordinary, with Kurama now residing within her. The manga has already shown that her potential is unusual even by Uzumaki standards.
More importantly, official material has directly linked that potential to the combination of her Uzumaki and Hyuga heritage. While calling the coming upgrade “god-tier” is still speculation, the groundwork for something enormous is clearly there.

Himawari’s Uzumaki-Hyuga Blood Could Unlock Kurama’s Full Power

The biggest clue is not simply that Himawari has Kurama. It is what makes her relationship with the Nine-Tails different from Naruto’s. Himawari carries both Uzumaki and Hyuga blood, and the official Boruto site specifically explains that these two lineages have a synergistic effect with Kurama’s chakra. That is a pretty remarkable statement when the character in question is still only beginning to understand what she can do.
This also helps explain why Daemon reacted so strongly to Himawari before anyone knew Kurama had returned. He sensed something enormous in her, and the official explanation points toward her future potential rather than simply the presence of Kurama itself. In other words, Himawari was already special before she consciously accessed the Nine-Tails’ chakra.
That makes her situation especially exciting. Naruto spent years learning how to control Kurama‘s power, eventually forming one of the strongest partnerships in the franchise. Himawari, however, appears to have an unusually natural connection with the same beast. Kurama’s rebirth inside her was also extraordinarily fast, despite the official explanation noting that a tailed beast would normally take hundreds or even thousands of years to return.
The manga has therefore given Himawari something much bigger than another transformation. She has inherited Naruto’s connection to Kurama while bringing an entirely different genetic background into the equation. That could become frighteningly powerful once she actually learns how to use it.
Kurama’s Bond Could Turn Himawari Into A God-Tier Shinobi in Boruto
The really exciting part is that Himawari’s story with Kurama still feels like it is only beginning. Two Blue Vortex has already established that she can access the Nine-Tails’ chakra, but there is a huge difference between having that power and mastering it. Her early displays suggest that she may have an unusually deep compatibility with Kurama, leaving plenty of room for her abilities to grow.
The official manga material has deliberately put Himawari in the spotlight. When Jura and Hidari attacked Konoha, Himawari became one of their major targets, and the story used that conflict to reveal her connection with Kurama. That is hardly the treatment of a character who is supposed to remain on the sidelines.
Kishimoto’s involvement is also worth mentioning, although the wording matters. VIZ officially credits Two Blue Vortex with “Creation/Supervision” by Masashi Kishimoto and art by Mikio Ikemoto. So it would be too strong to claim Kishimoto personally drew every development involving Himawari. Still, the story is officially being developed under his supervision, making her sudden rise difficult to dismiss as a throwaway power-up.
If Himawari eventually combines Kurama’s immense chakra with her Uzumaki vitality and Hyuga heritage, she could become something the franchise has never quite seen before. There is no confirmed “final form” yet, but the ingredients are already sitting on the table. For now, Himawari may simply be learning how powerful she is. If the story follows through on the potential it has teased, though, another Uzumaki could eventually become one of the most terrifying shinobi of her generation.
