What makes a crossover debate fun is the small, delicious impossibility of it. Here I put One Piece villains up against the brutal, cell-shredding force of Wind Release: Rasenshuriken from Naruto. This article is for fans who like both shows and want a grounded, opinionated take.
This piece explains why each villain could realistically shrug off, dodge, absorb, or otherwise survive that attack. I’ll be frank: some entries are borderline personal takes. But that’s the point of this piece.
1. Imu Rules the World With Unimaginable Power in One Piece

Well, Imu is the easiest “yes” on the list. In the story, Imu sits above the Five Elders and represents a level of mystery-rated authority that Oda presents as beyond normal comprehension. That status strongly suggests that Imu’s powers and abilities are not normal or the way we understand them.
If Rasenshuriken attacks cells and chakra, Imu’s unknown physiology (plus canon-level secrecy) is a strong narrative reason to assume immunity or at least extreme resilience. So, Imu’s role in the world implies power that works outside standard rules. And, it’s a good way to understand that Rasenshuriken simply wouldn’t have the same effect on him.
2. Kaido Is the Unkillable Beast Who Survives Almost Anything

Kaido’s whole character is “cannot be killed.” In fact, he transforms into a dragon similar to Loki. He’s taken mountain-level punishment, fallen from heights that would vaporize normal beings, and kept fighting. Rasenshuriken is surgical and targets life networks, but Kaido’s body has been shown to absorb catastrophic trauma and keep functioning.
On top of that, he also uses advanced Armament Haki that hardens internal parts. If you look at it that way, then that Haki plus inhuman physiology lets him shrug off or at least survive the initial cellular shredding long enough to fight back. I’d bet on Kaido staying conscious and dangerous even after a hit.
3. Big Mom Possesses an Iron Body and Terrifying Raw Strength

Big Mom is a walking engine of sheer, monstrous durability and strange powers. So, I think a Rasenshuriken would hurt her. Badly. But not enough to kill her. Soul manipulation, the presence of homies, and her absurd physical toughness give multiple layers of fallback. If her flesh is damaged, homies or soul tricks can patch, distract, or even preserve key functions.
Plus, if we talk about her Haki along with her sheer mass, it makes it unlikely she falls by Naruto’s Rasenshuriken and stays down. So yes, I believe Big Mom survives long enough to retaliate or to be carried away by her bizarre, meta-level abilities.
4. Blackbeard Commands Darkness That Devours Everything

Blackbeard is rule-breaking by design. The man owns two Devil Fruits. One is Yami Yami no Mi logia-type devil fruit, which swallows things and can manipulate darkness entirely. It’s a playbook built to exploit loopholes. Then he also has the Gura Gura no Mi, which can actually turn the tides in favor of the Rasenshuriken. It’s a Paramecia-type fruit, which makes him physically weak and vulnerable despite being a Logia-type fruit user.
But the Logia-type devil fruit will definitely have an edge. His darkness-to-absorb style could blunt or swallow the Rasenshuriken’s structure, or at least damp the attack’s effective vector. Even if the Rasenshuriken targets cells, Blackbeard’s darkness seems to manipulate external forces and anchor victims in weird ways. Personally, I see him as the only villain who has a 50-50 chance of surviving the Rasenshuriken.
5. Crocodile Rules the Battlefield With His Relentless Sand Powers
This is a take that leans on chemistry. Crocodile’s Sand-Sand Fruit turns him into a non-liquid sand state and lets him dry or desiccate opponents. My opinion is that an attack designed for moist, chakra-bearing bodies has reduced effect on someone whose form can become particulate, desiccated, or non-fluid.
If Rasenshuriken needs a traditional cellular matrix to cut into, Crocodile’s sand state may offer an ambiguity that blunts its lethality. But, it’s also important to note that Rasenshuriken is an S-rank jutsu and is too powerful, so it wouldn’t be at all easy to survive it. I don’t claim immunity, but I do think Crocodile could survive or disperse and re-form before permanent death.
6. Katakuri’s Future Sight Lets Him Dominate Every Fight

Now, this is where I firmly believe Katakuri survives a Rasenshuriken because of two things: his Special Paramecia mochi body and his advanced Observation Haki (often called future sight). Katakuri can reshape his mochi form to avoid contact and foresee attacks for a few crucial seconds, letting him dodge or let the attack pass through non-vital parts.
In plain terms, he doesn’t have a normal body, and he sees the future moves needed to keep his organs intact. That combination, in my view, makes him one of the safest Paramecia users on this particular list. Yes, I still believe that any Paramecia-type fruit would render useless against the Rasenshuriken, but Katakuri’s future sight is the twist here.
7. Enel Wields Godlike Lightning That Few Can Even Challenge

Enel is electricity incarnate. Enel can disperse through conductive paths, teleport along electricity, and doesn’t hold meat the way a normal human does. If Enel transforms fully, there are no normal cells for the Rasenshuriken to shred. Unless the attack has a specific counter (like Haki or elemental weakness), physical damage usually does not land.
But there is an important caveat. If the Rasenshuriken somehow forces contact while Enel is in solid human form, it could still be extremely dangerous because it would destroy his cells in a ziff. Also, in a cross-universe fight, if the Rasenshuriken were treated like Haki-equivalent energy, then the attack might bypass his Logia defense. So, survival is likely through phase-shift and mobility rather than armor or healing.
8. Caesar Clown’s Deadly Poison Gas Can Wipe Out Armies

Caesar is a chemist who weaponizes gases. I think his biology and tech would give a high chance of surviving Rasenshuriken. He has altered his body and often fights using airborne, molecular-level attacks. If Rasenshuriken’s microblades rely on a stable biological substrate, Caesar’s gas-state manipulations and biochemical defenses could make the technique less effective.
Also, he’d probably have traps and chemical negations ready. That’s why my personal read is that he survives by turning the fight into a chemistry experiment that breaks the Rasenshuriken’s assumptions.
9. Akainu Commands Unstoppable Magma That Melts Everything
Akainu ate the Magu Magu no Mi, which lets him transform his body into magma. Logia users can turn into their element, which means many attacks pass through them without damaging their actual body. If Akainu becomes magma at the moment of impact, the Rasenshuriken may not find real “cells” to destroy.
Remember how Akainu kept fighting even after taking devastating attacks from Edward Newgate during the Marineford War. That battle proved he can endure massive damage and keep moving. If Rasenshuriken forms a wind-and-cell matrix, hitting magma-form Akainu might simply burn or scatter the attack. Combine that with brutal Haki and military-grade toughness, and I’m willing to bet Akainu can take a direct hit and remain combative.
10. Kizaru Moves at the Speed of Light and Becomes Pure Energy

Kizaru’s light Logia grants near-instant movement and phase-like existence. In my opinion, if you can move at light speed and become light, then a physical, structured wind formation has a very small chance of hitting your vital center.
Kizaru can either dodge before the formation completes or turn his body into light and let the attack pass through. For me, that speed and the phasing ability are some of the cleanest counters to a microscopic contact technique like Rasenshuriken. Again, all this invites a great deal of debate, so I will be waiting here for a counter to my points.
