How much will One Battle After Another make at the box office?
One Battle After Another is expected to make $24.5 million, in the range of $20 million to $30 million, over the domestic opening weekend from September 26 to 28. Globally, it is estimated to earn an additional $25 million in its three-day debut for a $50 million total. Through its full theatrical run, it’s expected to pull in between $60 million and $116 million domestically.
These numbers come from a combination of reports from Deadline and Box Office Theory. However, the latter site warns that the movie has been fairly unpredictable despite very strong reviews, as noted by a 98% Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of writing). It’s positioned well to earn awards, but it’s an original film and DiCaprio’s last movie was Killers of the Flower Moon in 2023.
Either way, One Battle After Another is still expected to gross the most this weekend domestically, compared to Gabby’s Dollhouse at $20 million and Demon Slayer Infinity Castle at $8.4 million.
Depending on the report, the budget for One Battle for Another is somewhere between $130 million and $140 million. This means that the break-even point is around $300 million to $350 million, which would be quite a haul. Even if the film isn’t profitable, though, Warner Bros. has had a solid string of hits this year, including Weapons, Superman, and A Minecraft Movie.
