The post-credits scene of Netflix’s recent release, Troll 2, has left the fans wondering if there will be a Part 3. Troll 2 is the sequel to the 2022 Norwegian monster movie and was released on the streaming platform on December 1, 2025. Upon its release, it became the most-watched movie on Netflix globally.

How Troll 2 post-credits scene hints at Troll 3

Troll 2 has created a buzz among fans regarding a possible part 3 following its post-credits scene.

The movie, directed by Roar Uthaug, ends with the death of Andreas, played by Kim S. Falck-Jørgensen. He sacrifices himself so that Beautiful, the son of the Troll king, would have an opportunity to end the Megatroll, who is terrorizing Norway. In the end, Nora (Ine Marie Wilmann) also moves to the mountains with Beautiful.

However, then rolls the post-credits scene, in which fans see Professor Møller (Jon Ketil Johnsen), a Vemork researcher, talking to a military general on the phone. He tells him about the troll specimen he has and mentions, “I have great news, General. The specimen I was able to save has developed. Well, it doesn’t look like much now, but just give it some time.” The next scene shows a small troll caged in a terrarium.

This leads to multiple theories, one of which suggests that the professor might try to sell the troll as a weapon to the military in the next part. Another theory states that the troll might turn into an even bigger threat than the Megatroll. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.

Moreover, currently, not much information about a possible Troll 3 is available. While speaking to Netflix, Roar Uthaug didn’t provide anything concrete regarding a Part 3 but said, “I really love being in this Troll universe… I see a lot of potential in how we could expand it even further, if we were to continue this saga.”
