Cameroon announce squad for AFCON 2025

Cameroon have officially confirmed their squad for the highly anticipated Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025.

Cameroon have omitted former Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana from their squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, marking yet another setback in what has been a turbulent season for the 29-year-old.

Onana endured a difficult 2025/2026 campaign, losing his No. 1 spot at Manchester United before being sent on a season-long loan to Turkish side Trabzonspor in September. Despite Cameroon naming four goalkeepers in their 28-man squad, his exclusion remains one of the biggest surprises ahead of the tournament.

Fans were left stunned when The Indomitable Lions announced their AFCON roster without Onana, especially given his experience and previous contributions to the national team.

Among those included in the squad are Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo and Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, who is strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford next summer. Former Tottenham Hotspur winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, now playing for Saudi Arabian club Dariya, has also been selected.
