Haley Z. Boston Expresses Gratitude to the Duffer Brothers
Haley Z. Boston, the creator of Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Duffer Brothers for their support, who executive-produced the horror series with the Upside Down Pictures banner.

In an interview with The Wrap, Boston praised the Stranger Things creators not only for their mentorship but also for allowing her creative independence. “The Duffers have been great mentors to me during this process, but they really supported me to make the show what I wanted it to be,” she said.
Despite their involvement, Boston emphasized that the series will stand apart from the tone and style of Stranger Things. “I’m honored to have their name and their brand to put it out there, but I think fans will find that it’s quite different from Stranger Things,” she noted.
Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is the Duffer Brothers’ first project following the conclusion of Stranger Things, which wrapped up with its fifth and final season on Netflix in 2025. They are also serving as executive producers on an upcoming spin-off, Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, scheduled to premiere on Netflix on April 23, 2026.
